Well, before I start, for the benefit of those who are clueless to the plot of Dracu riot, let me give you guys a rough idea of the story. Basically, you, the protaganist, are a student who came to a special island in search of pleasure. While your friend treats it as sexual pleasure, you treat it as cullinary pleasure, and a shit load of funny stuff happens when both of you realise you have mistaken intentions. Basically your friend wants to get laid, while you want good food, sounds legit.
Anyways, while moving around the new island, you chance upon a girl, who is Miu, who you ask for directions, in which she helps you kindly. After that, you guys will witness her being kidnapped, the protaganist and his friends follow to help Miu, but the protaganist ends up getting caught in the process by the thugs. After a load of crap, including how Miu would save the protaganist and stuff, the police break in and it is revealed that Miu was a member of a "Disciplinary committee", one which controls the actions of the people of the city, in criminal sense, a division of the police force.
However, one of the thugs manage to get free and you become a hostage, after which she "bites" you, to gain her abilities, one that generates illusions in the process. Basically, at this point of time, you discover that in this city, there exists beings known as Vampires , who , as dictated in legends, feed on blood, but each vampire gains a single ability when they do it. Basically, in the process to get free, the protaganist ends up biting the thug, which in return causes him to mutate into a vampire, and he is forced to stay in these city which is made for vampires as a result.
The five routes which you will go through are routes of girls that live in the same dormitory as you , who know your secret. Miu, the Disciplinary Committee person, who always constantly tries to uphold a mature personality by being very open to sex, which in reality, she is really embarrassed about. Elina, the playful and ecchi girl within the group, Nicola, the vampire who always dons a Vampire costume with a mantle, and many more.
On to Elina's route, Elina like you too, is a vampire. During the course of your acceptance of your life in the city, you also volunteer to become a Committee member to feed yourself, and Elina is a girl who works in the casino to feed herself as well. As the protaganist gets closer and closer to Elina, one day, a drug incident happens in which your friend is put at Risk. There, you find out Elina's secret, that is, unlike all other vampires, Elina is one who feeds upon Vampire blood instead of human blood. After discovering her secret, in fear of you letting the bag out, Elina and you become closer and closer as you help her keep her secret and you learn more about her in the process, after which she becomes reliant on you to a certain extent.
After several events here and there, it is discovered by Miu and you that you, as a vampire, possess multiple abilities, unlike others, and close revelation in the end reveals you are a "lycantrope", a being destined to kill other vampires to gain their powers. The others are shocked but Elina is one of the only few who believes you won't harm the others, since you protected her secret, she shall for you too. It is also revealed, unfortunately that Elina, who has sucked your blood once, is now addicted to your blood due to your uniqueness as a lycantrope, she fights it but succumbs at times, and you help her out in the end, causing you two to become lovers after the events. Later, the Russian Military catches this piece of news and mobilises the Japanese police to hunt for you, pressuring the Japanese government, and soon, you become a somewhat wanted criminal.
After a series of events, you actually fake death and elope together with Elina, having been helped by your friends to get the Russian mlitary off you, it was enacted as though the mayor killed you, which was otherwise an elaborate act made by you and the story ends here, moving on to a after story later, where you return months later and find all your friends waiting for you, like the very first day you came, but now with Elina by your side.
I must note that Elina has a very unique vampire ability, she discharges electricity, much like our dear ol Misaka Mikoto, and she uses this to her disadvantage such as making a flashbang of sorts with the street lamps etc.
Impressions:
All in all, I was relatively impressed by the impact Elina route has on me. While Elina was clearly my first choice due to her playfulness as a character and her lovely design, I did not expect her route to have such a deep emotional investment in it. The whole scene at the finale where she encourages, scolds and goes hand in hand with you, believing in you, encouraging you and protecting you was really touching , and her love for you was actually the whole thing that kept you going at the darkest of times. I felt that moment where you returned to the city was a touching one as well, where all your friends welcomed you as per normal, it was all a really nice wrap to this epic saga. Players will be hooked on and follow the dramatic and intricate plot of the route , as you slowly and slowly understand and fall for Elina .
To sum everything off, Dracu riot is cool and you guys should play it kthxbye. I will probably be doing a review of Miu's route next so do look out for it. ST, signing off.
